Last week the Performance Days expert-jury chose the best fabrics in the various categories for the current Trend Forum. This year's Focus Topic ‘Beyond bottles’ is particularly exciting, focussing on the future of polyester and highlighting alternatives. After all, how sensible is it to produce new material from PET bottles and, above all, how sustainable is this in the end? Answers, solutions, innovations and alternatives can be found in this year's Performance Days Trend Forum.

In order to be able to offer space for new areas in March, the trade fair will once again take place in one and a half halls at the Messe München exhibition centre (halls C1 and C2). Due to the positive response, the Footwear Area will be continued, including a Footwear Forum and handpicked footwear exhibitors.

Once again, there will be also a special Sustainability Lounge – an area dedicated to sustainable trends and developments. This year´s platform will be even bigger and more present.

Also, visitors should not miss the exciting Expert Talks program with deep dives, panels and discussions. For example, Mark Held is reflecting on 20 years of the foundations of the EOG and what is next as they have just made a commitment to the RaceToZero.

Cyndi Rhoades from Worn Again will talk about how much recycling technology has advanced, some of the team behind The Microfibre Consortium will explain how they developed a wash-test for textiles, and René Bethmann from Vaude will be talking about the future of polyester in his keynote for the Focus Topic Beyond bottles. Alexa Dehmel will be presenting all of the fabric trends from the Trend Forum S/S 26 and Nora Kühner will give an overview about the next Performance Colors.

Another exciting new platform will be The Reality Zone Area, which is a partnership between Performance Days and Accelerating Circularity. The platform will bring together the industry polyester recyclers and fabric producers capable of incorporating textile feedstocks into their processes and products. The goal is to provide all actors in the circular supply chain the ability to engage in textile-to-textile systems. The event includes 2 workshops: T2T Recycled Polyester Essentials, and the Reality Zone Recycled Polyester Database Launch. These workshops bring together experts in the development of equipment and technologies for mechanical, thermal-mechanical, and chemical textile-to-textile polyester recycling.
