Pratteln, Switzerland-headquartered Archroma is introducing portable versions of its Color Atlas to help streamline textile and fashion industry workflows with truly convenient colour comparison.

The Mini Flex and Mini Palette editions are available as convenient libraries of textile colour swatches that set a new standard for efficient selection and comparison while on the go, in the office, factory or in a work-from-home setting.

Colour comparison is a fundamental part of the work of designers and their textile mill and brand partners. However, achieving the perfect colour match or colour harmony without convenient access to colour library reference books has long been a challenge. Physical colour libraries can be bulky and heavy with even compact editions of physical libraries too big to fit into a backpack or shoulder bag. The new Color Atlas formats provide designers with a visual companion tool for their digital colour libraries that on their own may not be accurate due to the limitations of the user’s smartphone or tablet.

Both new formats are user friendly and travel-ready, with no mask required to isolate colours for selection and comparison. They contain 5,760 unique colours – 4,320 for cotton and 1,440 for polyester. Each colour is available from Archroma as engineered colour standards that include achievability information on alternate fibre types, precise dyeing recipes formulated with products that comply with leading international eco-standards, digital data for recipe predictions, dye eco compliance information and access to expert technical support from Archroma around the world.

“Our Color Atlas has inspired creativity, enhanced communication and helped ensure colour accuracy since it was launched in 2016,” says Chris Hipps, global director of Archroma Color Management. “As new ways of working digitally and physically along with the demand for speed reshapes the fashion and textile industry, we continue to innovate to support brands, designers and mills to work faster and smarter together, wherever they are.”
