Premium outdoor children’s clothing and accessories manufacturer, Isbjörn of Sweden, has further strengthened its green-credentials by introducing the environmentally friendly Husky base layers, made with mulesing-free merino wool for Autumn/Winter 2017/18.

The Isbjörn of Sweden Husky base layer programme consists of a sweater and a pair of matching long johns, made from a blend of 50% wool and 50% polyester. “The blend of materials used within Husky offers the perfect balance of durability, function and softness. The wool material keeps the children warm in cold weather and the polyester blend effectively wicks moisture from the skin,” the company explains.

Isbjörn of Sweden is an official bluesign Trademark Partner and each item is truly sustainable, made without harmful chemicals and with recycled materials. The new range is more than 90% bluesign product approved, with the collection using materials, such as the fluorocarbon-free water-repellent Bionic Finish Eco outer fabric and PrimaLoft Black Insulation Eco, which is made partly from recycled plastic bottles.

Isbjörn of Sweden was founded in 2005 by Maria Frykman Forsberg and Camilla Schmidt, after they became mothers for the first time and discovered a gap in the market for high quality and comfortable outdoor garments for children.

Production of Isbjörn of Sweden garments use recycled materials and the company continuously strives to be as environmentally friendly as possible, while still producing long lasting, tough and premium quality garments which emulate adult styles and materials.
