Teijin Frontier, the Teijin Group's fibre-product converting company, will showcase a range of high-performance fabrics at Performance Days, which will take place at MTC World of Fashion in Munich, Germany, from 26-27 April. This will mark Teijin Frontier’s eighth appearance at the event.

The company will showcase products that combine high performance and superior comfort to meet diverse demands for sports and daily wear. Teijin Frontier says it aims to improve awareness of value-added fabrics, as well as develop new customers by participating in the exhibition.

Deltapeak

Teijin Frontier’s next-generation fabric is said to offer a well-balanced combination of softness, durability, elasticity, ultraviolet protection and anti-transparency. Wind-blocking properties can be added utilising its dense, flat-knit surface. Nylon-based Deltapeak also has outstanding abrasion resistance, according to the manufacturer.

Octa

This polyester fibre has a unique, highly modified cross-section with eight projections aligned in a radial pattern around a hollow fibre. Notable advantages include rapid wicking and drying, and useful bulkiness, the company reports. Octa Neo is a multilayer fibre that combines Octa fibre with various chemical and natural staple fibres.

Eco Storm

Eco Storm waterproof and breathable material is made from chemically recycled polyester that is produced with Teijin’s Eco Circle Fibres using close-loop recycling process. Eco Storm, which comprises a laminated structure with a thin polyester film, also can be recycled into new polyester material.

Fluorocarbon-free water-repellent materials

Fluorocarbon, a halocarbon in which certain hydrogen atoms are replaced with fluorine, is a greenhouse gas targeted under the Kyoto Protocol. Fluorine build up is thought to be harmful to the human body and the environment. Teijin Frontier develops durable and water-repellent fluorocarbon-free materials as part of its commitment to environmental protection.

Solotex

Finally, the company will present its polytrimethylene terephthalate fibre, which is highly soft, stretchable, shape retaining and durable. As a partially bio-derived material, it also helps to conserve fossil resources, the company explains.
