A new cooperation with Balkan Textile Machinery, headquartered in Aydin, Turkey, is enabling spinning machinery specialist Trützschler to provide fully integrated lines incorporating waste yarn recycling, based on its Truecycled concept.

Balkan is well established in Turkey – one of the most important markets for textile recycling – and its robust and reliable machines help to cut, mix and tear textile waste back into individual fibres and to press them into bales of secondary fibre which can be fed back to the preparation process with Trützschler machines.

“We are now able to provide a complete line-up of technologically leading machinery which has been specifically developed for rotor and ring spinning yarns from recycled materials,” said Markus Wurster, director of sales and marketing at Trützschler. “Customers will benefit from less complexity when planning and executing a mill project because the combined processes from Trützschler and Balkan are perfectly fine-tuned, reliable and reproducible.

“I am very happy that we can join forces with such a strong international player like Trützschler,” added Osman Balkan, owner of Balkan Textile Machinery. “Together we can make a significant contribution to dealing with textile waste globally.”

Card clothing

Appropriate card clothing is crucial to the complete recycling solution and Trützschler Card Clothing has continuously developed products to meet the technological challenges in the processing of secondary fibres and to improve resulting yarn quality. Special attention has been paid to the flat top as the heart of the carding process and the strength of the existing MT/PT 40 and cleaning power of MT/PT 45 clothing products have been combined  in the new MT/PT 45R – the new flat top for recycled materials. The optimum combination of flat top and cylinder wire is the key to yarn quality and various cylinder wires suitable for different recycling applications are supplied depending on production rates, type of textile waste and raw material (pure or blends). Thanks to these specifications, customers benefit from the best possible carding result, long lifetime of wires and high production in recycling applications.

Truecycled

Trützschler Truecycled preparation processes enable manufacturers to achieve a high-quality end-product from hard waste, based on technological recommendations and a machinery line-up to ensure ideal results.

Trützschler recently worked with a fashion company to make use of its own pre-consumer waste, for example, and by employing a special combination of blow room machinery, the TC 19i card for recycling and Trützschler draw frames, it was possible to create a ring yarn containing 60% of pre-consumer waste. This is a significant improvement on the average of 20% content that is usually achieved when incorporating recycled yarns.
