Epson, a leading printing technology specialist, will demonstrate its SureColor range of wide-format printers, used to produce a wide variety of high-quality value-added applications at the upcoming Sign & Digital UK, which will be held in Birmingham from 28-30 March.

Visitors will see selected models from the SureColor SC-S (eco-solvent), SC-T (aqueous) and SC-F (dye-sublimation) ranges printing high quality display graphics, POS, wallpaper, textiles, soft signage, and vehicle wraps.

“We are experiencing considerable interest in our SureColor printers as companies are investing in equipment that ticks all the boxes in terms of quality, price, flexibility, performance, ease of use and ability to maximize profits. Sign & Digital comes at just the right time as many PSPs look to upgrade, expand and add new products to their portfolios and, at the show, we will enjoy showing them the considerable potential of Epson technology,” commented Phil McMullin, sales manager, Professional Graphics, Epson UK.

Affordability and flexibility

The successful 10-colour 64-inch SureColor SC-S80600 uses the UltraChrome GS3 inkset which includes red, white and metallic for accurate and consistent corporate colour match signage and is said to produce exceptional print quality, even on the cheapest monomeric vinyl, according to the company.

This affordable and flexible printer has been developed as the perfect tool for busy Print Service Providers (PSPs). With a low total cost of ownership and superb reliability it is ideal for producing a variety of display graphics, backlit panels, POS materials, vehicle wraps, wallpaper and canvases as well as a plethora of other specialist applications, the company reports.

Wide-format printing

As part of its educational and local community initiatives, Epson has been working with young B-TEC students at Longdean School in Hemel Hempstead to explore the potential of wide-format printing to develop a vibrant car wrap design.

The winning artwork will be printed on a SureColor SC-S80600 and applied to a Toyota Aygo which will appear to be bursting through a wall on the exhibition stand.  The graphics, which will be unveiled at Sign & Digital, were printed and applied by graphics specialists Slam Signs.

Dye sublimation printer

For durable soft signage and fabric with exceptional quality and very low cost per square metre, Epson demonstrates the SureColor SC-F9200 dye sublimation printer at the show. This printer features two high-capacity ink supply systems for longer, uninterrupted print runs at resolutions up to 720 x 1440 dpi and speeds just over 100 sqm/hr. A large after heater and optional air dryer means products are in optimal condition for winding on to the highly-accurate take-up system featuring automatic tension control.

From the Epson aqueous range is the 36-inch SureColor SC-T5200MFP 4-colour, large-format printer, with colour scanner and copy facility. This printer is ideal for the high-speed production of POS and high-quality, quick-print applications such as photo quality posters, prints and graphics – outputting an A1 print for example takes just 28 seconds, the company reports.
