Featuring songs like “A Teenager in Love,” “One Fine Day,” “Walk on By,” “River Deep Mountain High,” and many more.

Since the rodeo uses 'special dirt', the dirt is stored on the UNLV campus for use in the next NFR.
Since the NFR is extremely popular, it sells out all seats for all of the events. Many casinos carry the events live in their sports books or host special parties to accommodate all of the fans in town who cannot get tickets for the events. Most of the major hotels and casinos book special entertainment into their showrooms with a country theme offering many of the regular shows an extended break.
The Thomas & Mack Center is the home court for the UNLV basketball team. By hosting the NFR, the basketball team plays a few of their away games for about 12 days every December while the NFR is in the Thomas & Mack Center.
The National Finals Rodeo has been televised consistently since 1974. From that year to 1986, the event was telecast through syndication. From 1987 through 2010, it was broadcast by ESPN, although its coverage was often tape delayed due to coverage of other events. From 2011 through 2013, the NFR was broadcast live on Great American Country GAC. From 2014 through 2019, it was televised on CBS Sports Network.Since 2020, it has been televised live on The Cowboy Channel and RFD-TV, and streamed live on the paywall-subscription-based The Cowboy Channel Plus application.

For 30 years, Juana Valdés (b. Cuba, 1963) has transformed ideas, thoughts, and feelings into works of art anchored in stories, many of which are inspired by her personal experiences. The exhibition title, Embodied Memories, Ancestral Histories, encompasses many concepts and complexities. Beginning with Un saco para el Viejo (A Coat for the Old Man, 1993), a suit made from burlap by her mother, the artist addresses her Caribbean identity and introduces two recurrent aspects in her work: her Cuban roots and her African ancestry. With this installation as the prologue, the story Valdés tells unravels as the visitor moves through the galleries and becomes acquainted with three main topics that are not necessarily exclusive: “The History of Migration,” “Representation and Subjectivity,” and “Materiality.”
Drawn from the Richard and Barbara Basch Collection, Contemporary/Traditional gives a glimpse into the dynamic world of international contemporary glass art of the late 20th and 21st centuries. This exhibition showcases a stunning range of glasswork styles, ranging from delicate figural sculptures to powerful abstract shapes. There are dynamic assemblages of organic forms that resemble living creatures frozen in time; pure geometric abstractions that dazzle with their perfection; and classically inspired vessels that recapture a vanished form of artistry.
Picasso and His WomenPresented by Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Sarasota Art Museum, Ringling College Museum Campus, 1001 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 342368 sessions: Tuesdays Jan. 9-Feb. 27, 1-2:20 pm $95 (plus $25 OLLI membership required) | 941-309-5111 • olliringlingcollege.orgThis course explores the art of Picasso through the lens of the prominent women with whom he shared his life. They were his lovers, confidantes, and muses as well as the casualties of his serial infidelities and abuse. He had a complicated relationship with each one of them; none stands above the others as an archetypal muse. Picasso, being a profoundly personal artist, took inspiration from his life to reflect directly into his artwork. As such, we will see how his style was transformed with each new relationship and how his feelings and impulses were reflected in the portraiture of these women.
